Late 19th century English Chinoiserie chair

19th century japanned chair with chinoiserie decoration to the back caning also to the back and sides. In a lovely well worn 'country house' condition its generous cushions are upholstered in an antique french linen.

n.b. due to the nature of the fabric there may be irregularities.

First appeared in  the 17th century, this trend was popularised in 18th century due to the rise in trade with China.

As a style chinoiserie is related to Rococo style.
